   Arrive Guwahati

   Pickup and overnight stay.

   Drive to Bhalukpong

   Cross into Arunachal at the foothills.

3. 3

   Bomdila

   Climb through pine forests; visit Bomdila monastery.

4. 4

   Dirang valley

   Apple orchards, Kalachakra gompa, hot springs.

5. 5

   Sela Pass & Tawang

   Cross the 4,170 m pass; arrive Tawang by dusk.

6. 6

   Tawang monastery

   India's largest monastery; war memorial in the afternoon.

7. 7

   Bumla & PT Tso

   Day trip to the Indo-China border lake (subject to permits).

8. 8

   Return to Dirang

   Slow descent with photo stops.

   Tezpur

   Drive down to the plains; sundowner on the Brahmaputra.

10. 10

    Departure

    Transfer to Guwahati airport.
